Executive Summary
JOBKEY University’s Strategic Plan charts the path for the University to transform itself into a leading world-class University that provides quality education, training, research and innovation for the advancement of the individual and society within the plan period, This will be achieved through creating an enabling environment by providing the required facilities and attracting the best available human resources in University education in the world. The University will reach out to the community in the areas of teaching and learning, research and community service, from its main campus in Mogadishu, and from other campuses in Mogadishu, Jowhar, Afgoye, Garowe, Bosaso and Baladweyne. JOBKEY University has chosen to be a centre of excellence in the following areas: Management; Arts, Scientifics; Medicine; Political Study, Islamic Studies, Law, Agriculture, Technology, Engineering and Geology.
JOBKEY University is committed to the principles of academic freedom, civility, social responsibility, integrit y transparency and accountability. These virtues will be inculcated in staff and students of the University.
Formative Analysis
JOBKEY University will take full advantage of its strengths and opportunities to develop and conduct learning and research programmes that address the social and technological challenges of the region, Somalia and Africa.
Research, Science, Technology and Innovation
JOBKEY University will contribute significantly to National development by introducing new technologies for the community, business industries and scholars. The University will collaborate with stakeholders, and invest in state-of-the-art infrastructure for research and development.
Work-force Plan and Human Resource Development
The managed expansion of the University will be guided by a work force plan and a human resource development policy to ensure high caliber staff for effective and efficient delivery of services and conduct of research.
Hiring policies and processes will be developed and used to get the best management for JOBKEY University. Continuous skills upgrading for the managers, updating of management systems, and benchmarking with leaders in the University education sector will ensure that JOBKEY University attains and retains excellent status. The infrastructure for teaching, learning, research, and recreation in the JOBKEY University system will be designed to be aesthetically pleasing and sensitive to the requirements of people with special needs. Codes of conduct for staff and students will guide campus life; civility and respect for all persons will be guiding principles. This will provide an enriching campus life that will facilitate the full development of talent and realization of potential.
Linkages and Collaborations
JOBKEY University will forge links and affiliations with world universities and more importantly African ones in the research and postgraduate aspects and later on develop more collaborations if needed and agreed.
Monitoring and Evaluation
JOBKEY University will implement the planned activities, and will continuously monitor and evaluate implementation of this Strategic Plan to ensure that it is fully implemented. If necessary, a mid – term review of the Strategic Plan will be carried out to align it with changes and realities that will exist by the beginning of 2015.
